spotting after a pelvic exam in early pregnancy is very normal. You will likely not have a pelvic at the next appt, the dr has already done the pap and confirmed pregnancy, as long as you have had no complications he will likely just feel the abdomen and see if he can hear the heartbeat.

Did he mention specifically you will be getting another pelvic exam?? Generally they'll do a pap smear and pelvic on the first prenatal appt and then you won't get another pelvic until you are close to 36 weeks or so unless you're at risk of cervical insufficiency.
Also please don't be worried about a little blood from the pelvic exam. It wasn't from the placenta and it won't cause damage to the baby. It was mostly likely caused by the fact that he was pushing on the cervix. During pregnancy the cervix gets very sensitive and is full of blood. It can bleed a little if it gets irritated. Be aware that if a pelvic exam caused it to bleed that sex may also cause it. As long as you don't develop a flow of blood and it stops with just a bit of spotting then the baby is fine!

Why do you think there will be a pelvic exam. I only had a pelvic exam at the 1st appointment. I'm now 25 weeks and have not had a pelvic exam since. Most of the time the doctor will stay away from that area as long as everything is going OK. Stop worrying about it. A little spotting is normal. The stress you are causing is worse for the baby than the exam.
