i have about a 6 month year dell inspiron E1505
well i at first was having trouble with vista so i was gunna go restore with the original disk then, i coundt acces my cd drive from anywhere or from my computer...so i went to chck dsk and repair and blah blah

and while i was done the battery charger stopped charging and would light up green for maybe a few minutes and go out and my laptop would die...

any ideas if this is a problem with the laptop or the charger?

also the charger doesnt light up green when plugged in

take it back and get it repaired under guarantee

its not quite clear.. if you want to check if its the charger.. you can try another battery.. plug it in and turn on the computer.. if that worked.. then its a bad battery..

you can try also plugging in your computer directly to wall outlet and remove the battery.. if that did not work.. you can try another charger or the power adapter..

but i think it has something to do with the OS also..

what you can do.. just to be safe, since your laptop is 6months old.. you can call tech support.. they'll help you diagnose the prob and if its the battery, they'll replace it if its covered by the warranty.. so best thing to do is call dell 1st so not to have any complication with your laptop..

you might have a power supply/power board that has gone bad, in addition to some hard drive problems. Dell should help you sort things out, especially since it is only 6 mos. old...

It's probably a bad battery but yeah, have it fixed under warranty
