You point blank tell him that you refuse to allow him to embarrass you any more. If he does not like you for who you are, than you do not need him. Tell him how it makes you feel, that you are done dealing with it and that it means so much to you that you are willing to leave him if it continues. Follow through with the threat. Don't argue about it, or he will think that it is open for discussion. Say it and mean it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

After 2 1/2 years of tolerating this behavior don't expect it to stop overnight if at all. First talk to him about it, tell him you do not like when he belittles you in front of people and tell him if he continues to do it you will either do the same to him or leave him. If you really want this to stop you have to be willing to leave him if it does not stop the behavior. This is emotional abuse and it's a way of controlling you and putting you in your "place". If you chose to allow it to go on then you will have to live with it.

I hate to sound like an flamer, but I can barely read this. So what you're saying is that your boyfriend makes you look stupid in front of other people but you don't say how other than that he gets mad at you for doing the same things he does himself and it makes about as much sense as your post. There is no question to answer here.

Break up with him. Seriously, if he makes you feel bad about yourself when you aren't doing anything wrong, then there's no reason to keep such a cruel, negative person in your life.

If he's just being a brat and you are too, then take the first step and stop acting like a brat yourself, and try to take your relationship to a mature level.

He's being emotionally abusive to you! Sometimes, it's normal for people to exchange witty, sarcastic remarks, but if he's making you feel dumb, and if he won't stop even though you've asked him to, it's time to seriously re-evaluate your relationship. I find it interesting that he can dish it but he can't take it. This is not the way a relationship should work!

Stop being such an idiot. If your boyfriend has been doing this for 2 1/2 years....why would he still be your boyfriend?

People watch how your boyfriend treats you and think you're an idiot, not because of what he says, but because you stay with him. Leave. Get some self-esteem. It's better to be alone than with someone who treats you poorly.

He's an As. It's time to drop him and find a new guy that appreciates you. It does make sense. He's not happy and he doesn't know why so you become a target. It's time for you to move on.
