i personally prefer the prince circa "purple rain" (i'm listening to "the beautiful ones" right now). do u like prince, and if u do, do u like his old music or the new stuff he's put out recently?

Definitely love Prince. I was really young when "Purple Rain" came out, but have always loved it and STILL think it's the best Prince album of all time. I've since been exposed to more of his stuff. In his VERY early days, he was a little stranger than I'm comfortable with, but his music was still so unique and fabulous! And what I've heard of his newer stuff is good too. Prince is a phenomenon!!!

ugh i am so annoyed by Prince!
I was excited to see him while in Chicago in 2005. He opened for a small college band. Yeah i was thinking the same thing why is he opening for them. Anyhow it was at the double door club mostly plays punk, ska, heavy metal, funky music. Mind you there was a small crowd on this night and noone was really aware of Prince being in town.
I was there and heck i danced right by the stage along with my then date. while everyone stood around talking, pretty much ignoring prince.
We were the only 2 people cheering him on or so it seemed. When his gig was over thats when people clapped! So afterwards he was helping clear up the stage picking up mike, wires etc. I go up to him to say I think he was great tonight and he cut me off short and said " I have things to do " what a dic* head.
i wasnt trying to snap away pics or be his best friend i mean shouldn't he have been nice to the only 2 people who actually gave a shiznit he was there ?

he smelled like B.O and his whole outfit and hair was a hot mess. i mean he looked dirty and not the sexy scruffy dirty, so ever since then i say
to hell with purple rain! lol

lol Im only laughing because prince was the very 1st cassette tape I ever bought with my own money like in the early 80's and I believe it was 'purple rain'
so that is a yes 4 me, I sure have enjoyed all his music over the years... sure he's easy to make fun of too... but he does have a certain groove, sex appeal and bluesy type of music and tone.
again I like all of his stuff mostly. he has been one musician that hasnt failed on me over the years.

Oh, God, I LOVE Prince! I have to agree with you about his "old school" music; "Beautiful Ones" is the ****, and "Purple Rain" still gives me goosebumps when I hear it...and you can't deny that the man is a ******* genius.

I LOVE PRINCE!!! i think my favorites are Erotic City, Little Red Corvette, and Kiss. but the new song Guitar is great too. he can't write a bad song
