It is a good buy, but not for somebody that can't fix things. The car is 23 years old, and honestly, they were junk when they new.
For most people, if they have to get on the internet and ask a question like this, it's an indication they don't know what they're getting into.

And next year you can put Historic licence plates on it. I would run and hide from 24 year old cars that do not have the original Pontiac engine in it. Unles you can part out the car and sell the corvette engine to a corvette owner who needs that engine. Be cautious there are other reasons that guy is selling.

Well if, it is a 350ci 'Vette' motor, it's not the original motor that, came in it. B-cuz that year model did not come w/ a 350ci, period. All of the third generation V8 f-bodies were 305ci until the 87-88 year models.
But yea, I would say it's a good deal. If, the body and engine are both in decent shape.
Here are some links where you can read up on the f-body.
Good luck!

It sounds like a good buy, if it is in as good of shape as bro says. Remember, this is an old car. Don't run it too hard.
If it breaks, it is worth the 700 in parting it out, so I suggest buy it..

It may not pass emissions with the wrong engine in it. And it may give you trouble if it was hacked in by a novice. Or maybe not.
