I'm a UCLA grad, and realistically, both are great schools these days. Personally, I'm more comfortable with UCLA, but it really depends on what you are studying. I can think of several majors for which USC is better.

Go Bruins! Yes, UCLA offers many advantages over USC. You get the same Ivy-League level of education at a fraction of the price; the campus isn't located in the ghetto or surrounded by a 20-foot-high wall topped with barbed wire; and we get to call the legendary John Wooden "Coach," just to name a few.
