I wouldn't curse you for looking good because you didn't sew your own dress.
Some people are great singers or entertainers, but not great song writers....so why would I be upset that they didn't write their own songs?

Well, that is just about most artists. They may sing it very well even, but they just don't have enough imagination and possibly inteligence or patience to actually WRITE the song itself. I personally find it as being a big FAT PHONY! There music writers get no credit for slaving over a "hit" song, even though they wrote it and the singer didn't do crap. The world isn't fair, just because the song writer may not have a wonderful voice to sing the song, doesn't mean they can't have an amazing mind for writing it.

Not everyone can do both. I want to hear beautiful singing, and I want to hear great songs. Sometimes the writer can't sing and sometimes the singer can't write. There is nothing wrong with doing what you are capable of.
Musical expression is an art form.
Last I checked, Pavarotti hasn't written his own operas, most actors don't write their own scripts, and a lot of art is a representation of what already exists.
One person can create and others can bring a creation to life.

It is always better for me when I love the song and read that the artist who recorded it is the one who composed/wrote it, however, I have heard music played by a poplular artist and written by annother and it just sounds right. I think it is harder to write a song and give it up knowing that it will sound better than recording it just to claim it.

Not every singer is a writer. Talents are specific I think. To give a voice to something someone has written is just as important as the written word itself. If a singer can give life to someone Else's words, I see no problem in that. Call it a symbiotic relationship.

I honestly think in my opinion that the music doesn't sound bad, (most of the time), but when you write your own song it sounds more soulfull when ur singing it.

I don't like them. They are getting undeserved money that could be going to a better cause. I like artists that write their own music better.

Honestly, I think less of them than of those who write their own songs.

There are lots of songwriters who cant sing .. I mean couldnt carry a tune if it had handles on it.. so I'd venture to guess it balances out.
