Patience is the number one best thing to help you spawn your bettas. It's not an easy nor an exact science, so just keep trying!

When the male is getting ready to breed he will make bubbles on top to the water and he will also jump out of his bowl (if its not covered).its best to place a male and female in seprate bowls side by side so they can see each other, to make him ready. Read all the suggested links people posted. After the female lays the eggs (males squeeze them out of her) take her out of the bowl. He does all the work!

when Betta's are ready to mate you will see a ring of bubbles around the outer edge of the bowl...also make sure you have a male and female
