Liberals are hypocrites. They say they love all other races until President Bush appoints them to high posts, Condi Rice and Alberto Gonzalez. Then they scream what is the President doing?

Not all "liberals" are the same, and many are probably not what you think them to be. Sure, I may not share your views, but that dosn't mean I hate you, does it?
Some people think that standardized tests are racist because it asks where your heritage, but they do that so that they can see if there seems to be a drop in scores in people with certain heritage, not to prove that certain people have inherited "faulty DNA",but to help understand how race and economics can affect what the child is learning in the classroom. Some people are worried though, because they are afraid that unfair things will happen based on the answers to those questions about things like ethinticity, and because it is the same test that asks you your ethinticity that's results can affect what classes you take, or what schools you get into. This is what people are worried about, mostly.
My best friend comes from a more conservative backround, but she isn't racist. I don't think that just because you've been branded as a republican or conservative means you are racist or prejudice.
I think that just as some people are fearing racism can start in a classroom, life-long lessons of tolerance and equality can too. TEACH TOLERANCE!

Gotta love it how you try to put words in peoples' mouths and set up a convenient, self-serving "either-or" argument, as if you've got people into a corner.
Not.
Many conservatives are racist, and blatantly and admittedly so - not by my evaluation, but by their own admission.
As for your "nanny state" argument, remember that government does for the people what they cannot do for themselves, and it does it via the WILL of the people.
Funny how conservatives value legislation, as long as it serves their interests, but God forbid "liberals" should put forth something through legitimate initiative and referendum, right?
Check this out. In east central Wisconsin, a major city enacted a non-smoking ban. Now, you have to take my word for it that this was voted into place by BOTH conservatives and liberals alike.
Smokers tried to challenge this ordinance, not once...but THREE times, and each time they were beaten at the polls.
What does that tell you? THREE TIMES!
Looks like your "nanny state" is supported by both conservatives and liberals alike.....oh....and one more thing....this particular city has traditionally been more Republican than Democrat.
Put that in your pipe and smoke it....outside, please.

It seems you love to double-speak! A great mechanism when it works!
It is hard to answer you as one has nothing to do with the other, other than part of the reason for quotas is the fact that testing in the past has been written by whites for whites!
I'll tell you what, I'll answer the rest of your question when you can explain to me why people who are rich are automatically accepted into the finest schools? Isn't that a quota for the rich? Do you honestly believe if I graduated from Yale with a 1.8 GPA that I would be accepted to the Harvard Graduate School of Business? I hardly think so!
Also, almost all colleges hold seats for students from the state they are in, even if private! This obviously, lets people from that state with much worse credentials and scores into those schools. Is that not a quota?
So if 2 segments of society have a foot up. and both I am assuming you agree with, then according to you there is something wrong with the same being applied to people who generally do not have a shot at college!
My daughter, the valedictorian of her class in a private Catholic High School, a straight A student, a cheerleader, 4 year Varsity basketball player, 3 years starting, president of her class was turned down at Duke because of in-state quota's, as well as the University of NC! She ended up at the University of Wisconsin at Madison where she has earned her master's and is working on a doctorate!
So, there are all kinds of quotas, some I suspect you agree with and one I suspect you do not!
I guess it is who's shoes you are walking in, isn't it?
By the way, conservatives are not rascist: They HATE everyone not like them equally! So I would say they are Haters!

Why do you stereotype? Afraid to speak the truth or you can't process it?
We don't believe standardized tests are racist and actually promote it. Racial quotas are racist as are set asides because it's the same thing.
I believe in equality. A fair shake for everyone. I also believe that those who hold tightly to their ethnicity are putting themselves at a disadvantage in today's U.S. scenario.
A heavy dose of ethnicity is a sure formula for failure. I don't endorse it, I acknowledge it.
Intelligent people know your type for what you are......insecure and defeated.....lashing out for some acceptance in a world that has exposed your beliefs as unpopular and unfavorable.
The fact that you are here on YA to incite anonymously belies your insecurity and desperation.

I don't think standardized tests are racist, and I think quotas are wrong. Just because you hear something in the not-so liberal media doesn't mean it's true.

You make the same mistake most conservatives do. Because all conservatives are exactly the same, and think in exactly the same way, you assume all liberals think the same way.
No, I know all conservatives don't. Then why assume we do?
I think standardized tests are a great idea. I think the national language should be English. I think illegal immigration is intolerable and must be stopped. I'll happily pay taxes to build the wall. Racial quotas per se are wrong. I don't believe in a Nanny state.
I do know that we have the highest per capita military expenditure in the western world. We also have the lowest per capita expenditure on children's welfare.
I don't agree with 6 million children having no healthcare. I don't agree with 4 million children going to bed hungry tonight. I don't agree that a country as advanced as the US can fail to understand that ALL men (and women) are created equal, and deserve equal treatment. That includes blacks, hispanics and gays. And yes, I would give gays equal access to marriage (not 'special' rights, but EQUAL rights). I don't agree with a profligate congress that for the last six years has spent money like it's going out of fashion; I believe in low taxes and fiscal responsibility.
So don't assume any class of people are homogeneous. Your far right views are not shared by many people who would feel comfortable describing themselves as conservatives.

The lib definition of "racism" is:
"saying anything that COULD be construed by a liberal to be a racist statement. It does not matter if that was the intent, or if a person with a brain would realize it wasn't really a racist statement. It does not matter if the comment referred to a nationality or ethnicity rather than a particular race, you will still be called a racist."
Some advice from a right-leaning Centrist - don't let the word "racist" bother you. The person calling you that most likely hasn't a clue what racism truly is, so their opinion does not matter. I've gotten into the habit of giving a smart retort:
Them: "You're a racist."
Me: "I was born that way, what's your excuse?"
Them: "You're racist."
Me: "And?"
Them: You're such a F*ing racist"
Me: "And you have such a way with words!"
As if I care that I'm called a racist when the opposition runs out of legitimate arguments. I call that "case closed." Once the race card is brought up, I win by default.
Can I get an AMEN.

can you point me to the quote where a liberal said "black people wouldn't make it without the nanny state"...
again... more lies to build up your own party...
and I don't think standardized test are racist?
and racial quotas may be... but I haven't heard any ideas from anyone else on how to deal with the blatant racist hiring actions that clearly exist, according to basically every study ever done on the issue... Republicans saying "nothing to see here" doesn't do anything but ignore the problem...
