Bought a boat a while back and never noticed the size on my title said it was a 15' when the boat is actually a 18'. There are no id numbers on boat, its a 1970. Can they change the size on title if I put the id numbers on boat from title or? Not sure what avenue to take because the owner of the boat is no where to be found now. Any info will help. I reside in Florida.

it's probably cheaper to register a smaller boat, I would ignore it and leave it as is. Unless it's a thing they check, but I have never been checked for it

Doesn't sound like the title matches the boat some 1 could of switched them> There has to be a Vin number on the starboard transom 1970 would be a plate. Better find the person you purchased it from an get it corrected as if stopped your in for a lot of issues>.Is it a manufactured hull or a rebuilt hull name on the title>There's a big difference between a 15' an 18'You might be able to have it back checked to past owners an see if it was a type error but with out Vin # on the hull your might have a problem proving it. There a lot of this happening here in Fl take a newer stolen boat an use a older title>>??

IF YOU HAVE THE ORIGINAL TITTLE , take it and the boat to the license agency and have them change it, ( take a measuring tape with you, you can also take it to the state highway patroll and they can tell you what has to be done

GO TO THE MOTOR VEHICLE AND GET THE APPLICATION FOR REGISTRATION. MAKE THE CHANGE THERE. IF THEY HASSLE YOU, YOU COULD ALWAYS REGISTER THE BOAT AS A HOMEMADE. MEANING YOU MADE THE MODIFICATION.
