So I use the smaller thing and shoved a stick up and painted. I only had 2 quarts of paint lol and it covered half the ceiling but it looks good.

Should I use spray paint next time??????????

What's the easiest way??? I hate that popcorn ceiling...but it needs to be painted because it has brown spots lol.

hi,no dont use spray paint,,you will breath the fumes, you need a extension handle and a roller. dont put alot of pressure on the handle,,also sometimes popcorn can come off depending on how hard you go over it,so be carefull.(im a painter)

You can't paint a "popcorn" ceiling with two quarts of paint unless the room is only 10 feet square, and, it's white to start with and not dirty.
You can't do this with a roller or brush.

There are no "fumes" in an water based paint but, a smell of the paint that goes away very fast.

The next time rent or borrow a spray gun and do it right, it will take about ten minutes.

P.S. I wouldn't hire anyone that paints a "popcorn" ceiling with a roller.

hello,it is harder to paint the popcorn texture, and spraying is the best way. but if you can't spray then you should use a heavy nap roller, this way there is enough paint so that you don't need to go over it so much. keeping your roller full is important. as far as the brown spots if they are bleeding through the paint then you need a stain blocker such as Zinzar Bulls Eye 123 or Kiltz either will hold back stains very well, they are both white in color and can be applyed to just the stained areas but if there is a lot of staining like cig.smoke or bad yellowing i would use it on the whole area. then if you want to put on a diffrent color it will go on nicer.hopethis helps.

use a fiberglass pole next time, if you spray it you will have to mask off everything you dont want the overspray to get in contact with.this is very time consuming.People that dont have any experience using a sprayer usually end up getting the paint all over the place and end up getting runs and drips on their celings.Sorry to hear your struggling with this project.but a roller is the best and easiest way.the key word being easiest ....not to be confused with easy as in this is easy.painting celings is hard.good luck.glad to hear its comming out nice though.
