They are suffering from self centered fear. They care too much about what they think other people are thinking of them. They are so afraid of being disliked they can't function right in a social setting.
They must learn to go ahead and be themselves. They are okay today just like they are. It is none of their business what other people think of them, it is their business what they know is true about themselves. Not every person will like them, those who don't like them, leave them behind. Treat other people as you would like to be treated. Be kind, caring, giving, selfless, tolerant, patient, have unconditional love, understanding, be quick to forgive and slow to anger. You will like yourself and others will naturally like you too.

Being shy is another word for social insecurity, and even strongly suggests the person has an inferiority complex. This could mean the individual is potentially a troubled person, and perhaps affected by clinical depression.

I think guys who are kinda shy are adorable! As long as you eventually come out of ur shell and have and get a little roudy then its all good but if your just a stick in the mud then your no fun.

I think they're nice. I'd wonder who they were, and think it would be nice if I got to know them. But i'd also know that it wouldn't be so easy to do so. I'm really shy. So I know what that's like.

I think they are just uncomfortable with their surroundings. When they are in their comfort zones, I believe they can be quite talkive. =]
