one and that my liscense will be suspended for a year. The ID is my picture my name different age and different address but the cops discovered it in a search of my car when i was pulled over. Is there anything i can do to not get a year suspension on my liscense. I know i know i'm lucky im not in prison... i dont wanna hear it tho... I think this situation is bogus. Me and my friends got posession of alcohol but not posession of fraudulent IDs when the police officers clearly busted us with them. Why would they not write us tickets only for us to get letters stating charges a month later?

No. There's nothing you can do. You're busted.

Bogus? Well let me explain you, under normal circumstance the cops could have arrested you on the spot an take you to trail for carrying counterfeited documents (as serous as counterfeiting money) and you and your friend would have end up doing some real jail time or parole with a real criminal record to carry for the rest of your lives. BUT the cops felt pity on you and didn't want to ruin the lives of some kids.

Of course you can try to fight the cops, but you can be sure they will stop playing nice since they still can file criminal charges for those fake IDs and then you will wish to have kept quiet.

Besides you are forgetting that the alcohol alone is enough to get your license suspended for a very long time.

Take it like a man, you had you fun, you were caught fair and squared and were not arrested; so why to risk to make things worst? Take the year suspension and move on.

You are getting confused.

The letter about your license being suspended for a year comes from the state government beaurocracy.

The police, who stopped you, they probably somewhat ignorant of laws other than those directly pertaining to operation of motor vehicle and illegal drugs or alcohol use.

Every time they stop someone, whether there's a ticket issued or not, they log what happened.
The car identification, description, license plate.
The occupants of car, their description, id they had
What if anything was wrong.

Then when this log goes into the beaurocracy & there is a review of any charges already imposed, the beaurocrats can decide to impose additional penalties

There are several sets of officials you have to deal with
* The police who made original reports
* Traffic court system
* DMV license approval system

If you did not get possession of fraudulent ids, how come the age and address wrong on the id?

Did you recently have a change in address?
Did you lie about your age?

If you can make a convincing case to the DMV that the id is not fraudulent, then you can get your license back, except for whatever comes of the alcohol with driving.

You HAD fraudulent ID's. You HAD alcohol and were underage.

You DON'T deserve a driver's license.

Don't fight it.

Suck it up like a man and take the consequences YOU chose for yourself.

Oh, that's right, you're technically NOT a man, since you are underage. Well, you faked being an adult and you got busted like one... sans the prison term. You wanna be a man? Take your lumps and learn from them.
Welcome to adulthood.

The Officer may not have charged you with a crime, but he still may have reported your fake ID to the state when he did the report about MIP and the state decided to act on it.

I've never seen it done here, but it certainly is possible.

The letter is your ticket stating the charges.

You remind me of the movie "Clueless" when Cher tells her father she thinks it's unfair for them to send her a letter stating that it is her second notice to pay her parking ticket, stating "They never gave me a first notice", and her dad says "The ticket was your first notice".
