I like them both, but Otis I never get tired of. Marvin might be smoother, but Otis has more of that downhome grit to his voice ... his joy and desperation jump out at you more. Not a knock against Marvin, it's just that it's tough to compare someone to the best. It'd be like comparing Bob Dylan and Neil Young, maybe. And for what it's worth, Al Green could give either Otis or Marvin a run for their money. It's all good, really.
