i know it's a way to say someone is very in love, but it's hard to imagine someone tied up or hugging a big finger :p how would you imagine that? and yes i know it's a song, actually it's mentioned in a few

I think maybe its an Irish thing

they have them rings with hearts on em

one on each finger sometimes, pointed all different ways

maybe watch the one the right middle finger the most

It basically means, they would do anything you wanted them to. Because they were "figuratively" wrapped around your finger. Not necessarily because they are in love. Another way of saying it is, "they are your puppet, and you pull the strings."

i dont know about love, i always thought it meant you could control/ manipulate them, in which case i think it is a reference to a marionette, the puppets you controled by strings wrapped around your fingers, or wooden sticks, w/e
