They go by the first day of your last menstrual period (LMP) which in your post was the 4th July. You would have conceived approximately 2weeks after this (18th July) and would now be 7wks 4days pregnant (actual baby for only 5 or so wks) and due on the 9th April 2008.
You would have about 32wks to go (out of 40wks).
The doctor should always calculate your pregnancy from your Last menstrual period. Ultrasound dates are not always accurate and can be off by 1-3wks because they use the size measurements of your baby to calculate due dates and some babies might be bigger or smaller than average.
Good luck and congrats

They don't go by conception date, they go by the first day of your last period. So from July 4. Estimated conception is about two weeks from then, or around the 18th. When they do an ultrasound they'll compare this to the size of the baby to make sure they're fairly close. If it's way off they may change your due date.

They are going to right down what you say...and compare it to your first ultrasound...that should give you a more accurate date...i guess your trying to see if youv'e been pregnant since june huh....well they will tell you because theres a big difference in 10 weeks and 4weeks...just start comparing your ultra sound to those online and you will see what i mean...congrats

Not only will your doctor go off of what you tell them, but they will use your first ultrasound picture to tell about how old the baby is.

Thay can also tell by ultra sound and kinda guess at it with how long or the width or how big the baby is.

whatever your doc tells you would be right, especially when it comes to baby growth rate and all....and if they tell you that by calculations you are 7 weeks pregnant, well, their stuff doesn't lie....CONGRATS!
