I automatically hit it even if I know my spelling is correct. You appear much more intelligent when your spelling is correct, plus, it is easier to understand what you are trying to say.

I always do the selpl chcek before I hit the submti button. See!

Just kidding, I feel the same way.

It is interesting how the human brain perceives the word as long as the first and last letters are correct. The spelling in between really does not matter, since the brain perceives the word in it's intended context, and corrects the spelling during the reading process (in most folks).

I took just such a test, to see if the point of the text would still be evident even though it was chock full of misspellings. I got the whole subject, and everything that was being conveyed. Even with all the misspellings, so long as the first and last letters were correct. when the first and last letters were incorrect, it threw off the ability to digest what was attempting to be conveyed. I thought to myself, WOW, what a revelation, I never realized that about the human brain.

I could reply by saying "I agree wit this" but spell checker does not realise I should have typed "with" as "wit" is a correctly spelt word.
Some people need assistance with their grammar, punctuation and syntax too.

This is a big pet peeve of mine as well.

Yes, using Firefox with spell check is awesome. However, it does not like "Firefox" - I had to add it to the dictionary!

Firefox does this for me. It spell checks my words as soon as I type them.
