If you are sure that the pains are not due to sciatica, then I suggest you call your OB and tell her what you are experiencing. She'll probably have you go into the perinatal unit to check you out. Last year, at 35 weeks, I got this sudden pain that felt like a bruise on the left side of my uterus. My doc told me to take some Tylenol and use a heating pad to see if goes away. It was too weird for me to wait, so she had me come in. As soon as I got to the hospital, the pain subsided. My hubby wanted to go back home, but I said, noooo we're here, let's go get checked out. Did I mention I was pregnant with twins? Okay, so, I went in, and after some blood work, turned out I had developed pre-eclampsia and had an emergency c-section right then and there! They boys were fine and will be 1 next week!. Anyhow, my point is....don't wait.....your body is telling you something......GO NOW!!!!!!!

I lost my mucus plug the morning I went into labour with my 2nd. I found walking actually better for the pain and it helped move things along more quickly. Time the pains and if they regular and getting more intense then you are in labour. Don't just sit around or labour will take forever. Let gravity do the work for you!
Good luck and you should have a baby in your arms very soon.

Sounds like labor to me. If you are in that much pain now (and since it is not your first). I would not take any chances of having to deliver this baby in your car. Go to the hospital and good luck. Hope the baby comes fast!!! Besides if you wait to long you may not be able to get the epidural! GO! GO! GO!

drink some water and put your feet up - do they get weaker? Do they get longer stronger and closer together? If they do and they are about 2-3 minutes apart (from the beginning of one to the beginning of the next) it's time to go to the hospital to get checked out. Good luck.

Sounds like the start of something. Walk around or have sex and if it is the start of labor it will kick it in to high gear.

sounds like you are to me, just go ahead and head to the hospital....worse case scenario is they send you home for false labor, but i would rather that happen then it be too late.
