as long as her poo is soft, it doesn't matter how often she goes. I have seen breast fed babies go up to 7 days at a time and as long as they are comfortable and the stool is soft, that's ok. 24 hours is very reasonable. the color of stool doesn't really matter (unless it's red, white or black), it's probably something that you ate.

it incredibly is in all probability the formulation inflicting this. definite, breastfed infants can circulate DAYS without pooping yet no longer while they're that youthful. A a million to 2 week previous must be going after almost each feeding if no longer mroe frequently and then it incredibly is going to slowly over some months circulate right down to as quickly as an afternoon ro the different day etc. My son continues to be solely breastfed at 8 months. He pooed after each feeding until eventually a minimum of a million month, then it replaced into everywhere from 4-6 cases an afternoon until eventually approximately 5 months. Now he is going as quickly as an afternoon or each few days. Is the poo complicated or in little balls? Does your toddler rigidity to circulate?

Breastfed babies are only supposed to poop every 1-3 days. Its one of the many benefits of breastfeeding! It shouldn't really smell much either. Green poo is okay, but a more "seeded mustard" colour and consistency is normal. Bottle fed babies have a more greeny and much much more smelly poo than BR/F babies.
I wouldn't be too worried though. Remember that what you eat goes through the milk to baby so it can determine what the end product looks like!
Don't let MIL tell you what to do. you're the mum and you know best!

Don't listen to the mother in law.. every baby is different!!!
The green is from the iron in her formula. Breastfed newborns do poop at every feeding due to gatrocolic reflex.. But at 10 weeks thats long gone and baby's system matured greatly.. it can "hold" more poop =]
So even a couple of days are fine. Really as long as they are not hard or weirdly colored, blood in stool or diarhhea, no reason to be concerned.

the only time you should be concerned about the time between poops is if it has been over 4 days
as to the upset tummy it could be what you are eating if you have eaten any thing new i would avoid it for a while to see if she starts to feel better
a good rule with breastfeeding is to try and stay away form foods that give you gas
as for poop i completely understand you can tell you alot about whats going on with your child. (I use to make my husband save the poopy diapers so i could look at them when i got home)
yes i know that sounds gross but when you have a baby that had pooping issues you just want to know.
hear is a site on breastfeeding they have a lot of answers

I also breastfed and formula fed my children. It is completely normal for your baby to go ever 24 hrs or even longer when partially formula fed. It is also normal to have strange looking bowel movements when there is a combination of breastmilk and formula. Of course have it checked out by your ped. if you think there's a problem, but it seems perfectly normal to me. Good luck with your new baby!

it's normal if a baby poops once every few days. so your baby is def. fine. I know from experience that when I was breastfeeding my baby would poop atleast 4 times a day, but when I switched to formula he started to poop only once a day. but 3 diff. doctors all said as long as a baby poops atleast once every few days they are fine. so if he doesn't poop in 3 days straight something might be wrong.

My doctor told me not to worry about the frequency of my daughter's bowel movements, because she could go days with out having one. He said the only time a baby is truly constipated is if they pass a hard stool, then it's a concern.
A baby is new and it's digestive system is new too, it needs to figure out how to work and they will not always have regular bowel movements. Try not to worry too much, if in doubt ask your doctor.
Good luck!

breastfed babies go days without pooping, so all the poop she is producing is the formula. ignore the mother in law, i have one just like that. green poo is normal too. dont worry and dont listen to the MIL, they know less then they think!

Hey...we wouldn't be moms if we couldn't spend lots of time talking about poop.
Here's all you need to remember: it's about CONSISTENCY, not FREQUENCY. You only need to worry if your baby's stools are really hard.
And the poop only gets better. Wait till she starts eating Cheerios...it'll look like she's been eating sand. You'll miss the days of green poop.
