Seriously, instead of putting the best that America has to offer out on the front lines to die for our country and leave behind their families and children, why don't we just take all the rapists, serial killers, and child molesters and convicts of that nature and send them out on the front line. Think about it. We'd be ridding society of its worst members, let alone the fact that most of them would be seeing a death row sentence anyway. Also, the argument of "they're people too, ya know" is null and void. The minute a person decided to kill and rape and break the law, their well being means nothing anymore. Their rights are no longer in question since they didn't care when they did their crime. I'd much rather hear that 40 serial killers and child molesters died in the war on terror one day on the news instead of hearing about good men and women dying out there. Think about it.

I don't believe it would be a wise idea to give a convicted killer a weapon and hope that he will obey commands. Lack of respect for law and rules is what got them in trouble in the first place.

One problem with this idea is that these perverts would be in a position to abuse innocent civilians in another country. Do you think that's better than letting them do it here? The people over there don't think so, and not all of them are our enemies!
A soldier needs self control and respect for people. You know how upset we get when we hear that a US soldier may have raped or murdered an Iraqi or Afghani civilian? It would happen a lot more when the soldiers we sent were already hardened criminals.

I think that would be a bad idea. How trustworthy and mentally stable are rapists, murders and child molesters? People who willingly join are trained and go with the intent of completing their duties. Forcing people of very questionable character to go would be a disaster. How much can we trust people who refuse to follow the laws as civilians? It would be a recipe for certain failure in any military operation.

lets do this why don't we send all those, child rapists, all those
violent criminals ,serial killers all of them in to an ISLAND,
once a month air drop the necessity things, and let those animals for give me an animal has more dignity all those evil souls to make their own food, build their own hut or what ever.

and since they are bunch of you know what they will kill each other out.
I am sure you can remember the movie PAPIONE i am sure the spelling is wrong u know the one who Steve Mac Queen played in movie theater.
the story was all criminals must live their miserable liefs until they died in the Island.

that way all of us here will save a whole lot of money which
we can use it in much more needed areas.

the thing is if you ask this evil souls to go to war, they will not
go, they rather stay in jail and spend our hard earn tax dollars.

Because those in the armed services need to be brave, honorable and strong. What you've suggested would turn out military into a group of selfish, cowardly thugs who only care about themselves - not their country. What in the world makes you believe that criminals would give a crap about defending America? More likely they'd just bail like the cowards they are.

Really bad idea. I'd suggest thinking this over again.

I like that thought! However, that could backfire pretty quickly when a convicted killer with an M-16 with a full metal jacket turns on his officers.

actually, not that long ago we did just that. that'd be ok unless you were also in the military and had to work alongside one...anyway i'm not sure that's a fitting punishment. it's a new life, a chance to make something of yourself, a paid job. not that best solution.

Because of desertion and becoming a traitor, no way would I trust my life to them. They would feel no obligation to the country that sent them there.

You do make a good point but consider the fact---If they can not abide by the laws in civilian life, what makes you think they would be any different in the service?
