Presumably:-
(1/3) x + (3/4) x = 13
4x + 9x = 156
13x = 156
x = 12

Alright,

First we find the lowest common denominator (LCD);

3*4 = 12

Now we multiply the entire equation by the LCD

12(1/3x + 3/4x = 13)

Then we get;

4x + 9x = 156

13x = 156

Divide by 13

x = 12

Hope this helps!

To solve this, multiply both sides by 12:
4x+9x=156
combine the like terms on the left:
13x=156
now divide both sides by 13:
x=12

two possibilities
1/3 x + 3/4 x = 13
x = 13

1/ ( 3 x ) + 3/ ( 4 x ) = 13
[ 4 + 9 ] / (12 x ) = 13
13 = 13 (12 x)
x = 1/12

Do you mean (1/3)x + (3/4)x = 13 or 1/(3x) +3/(4x) = 13?
Please state your question clearly with brackets included.

(1/3)x + (3/4)x = 13
(4/12)x + (9/12)x = 13
(13/12)x = 13
13x = 13(12)
x = 12

1/(3x) +3/(4x) = 13
4/(12x) + 9/(12x) = 13
13/(12x) = 13
13 = 13(12x)
12x = 1
x = 1/12
