reptiles have scales on their skin, to keep in moisture. they have leathery egg shells, so eggs can be laid on the land. i think hip structure also makes them diff. from amphibians
amphibians "breath" through their skin, and need their skin to be moist at all times or they can not "breath", so they must stay near a water supply. amphibians also have jelly like eggs, and need water in order for their eggs to survive. again, hip structure i think has something to do with thier diffences. reptiles can run, yet apmhibians need to leap or walk i guess...
basically, amphibians need water in order to live and reproduce

Sure.
Lizards have scaly skin which doesn't sweat or allow water to pass through it. Amphibians have much more permeable skin.
Lizards lay their eggs on land instead of in water as amphibians do.
Lizards live on land all their lives, while the immature phase of an amphibian's life is entirely in the water
So some lizards can live where there are no streams, puddles, or lakes. They can get water from the dew that forms at night.

I know this answer but right now I have a brain burp so I'm going to tell you the only ways I can remember. Reptiles have dry leathery skin so the water cannot evaporat out of their bodies unlike amphibians. Also reptile eggs have very leathery shells so water doesn't get evaporated out unlike amphibians eggs that needs to be in water. There is a third thing that seperates them but the answer I cannot seem to remember.

Reptiles have scales that retain moisture. Amphibians don't (they have skin like frogs).

In addition to scales which retain moisture, most reptiles have extremely concentrated urine, and gain most of their water through food.

They have thick skin which reduces the loss of water and they live without water for a longer time period.
