Entering this year I am on academic probation at the University of Connecticut. I have a 1.66 cumlative gpa with 45 credits entering in my third year. I am 21 years old and even if I take a full course load every semester to graduate I will have to stay at Uconn for atleast 6 more semesters. Is it worth it to take out $80,000 more in loans to get a B.S. in Physiology from UCONN or should I just cut my losses at being $40,000 in debt and take itt tech courses for 1 year to get a B.S. in Forensic Science. I've talked to ITT tech representatives and they said if I take 6 courses in the fall and spring and then 3 courses in the summer assuming that all of my credits from UCONN transfer I will have a B.S. in Forensic science from ITT tech school of Criminal Justice Online and it will cost $10,000 total. If I do this will I still be able to get a job even though itt tech is not accrediated? Or should I stay at UCONN? I want to become a middle school science teacher maybee

well i do study and work I was ranked in the tp 10% in my HS class thats how i got into uconn. I took some education courses and they helped me bring my gpa up if it wasnt for those i would of failed out already b/c every semester i fail at least one class but am able to keep my gpa above a 2.0 except for last semester i failed two courses and it came out to a 1.0 because damn Organic chem II and Calculus III multivariable. I have until September 5th to make up my mind and if i do stay at Uconn these are the courses I am signed up for: Calculus III, Marine Biology, Classical Literature Deux, Teaching the exceptional child, and Nutition and exersise
If I can get a B in nutrition and my education course and a C's in my other courses I can fail Calc III and still come out with a 2.0 but im crossing my fingers going for a 3.68 so i can bring my cgpa up to 2.0. I have 9 credits from education courses already

You can also transfer credits to Community College and get the same degree for far less money. It is also a 2 year degree (minus any creditable course work).

Be Careful. Many of those private "institutes of study" change the rules at the last minute. Or rather, the minute after they get your money.

If you want to teach, you must have a Bachelor's Degree with sufficient courses in the subject you want to teach.

Are you ready to turn things around and start doing your study and homework? If so, go for the degree.

If the school is not accredited, your degree from them is WORTHLESS. The rest of the discussion then becomes meaningless.

If you want to teach science, shouldn't you be majoring in Education?
