im not for certain whats causeing them. im not on my period and its not time for my period and iv already had it earlier this month. and even when i do have my period i dont get cramps/side pains. i only get them if i have been running for a long distance which i have not been doing that no more because i graduated so i no longer run for cross country or track. there is a huge posibility that im pregnant but i cant know yet. but im thinking that the cramps/side pains could have something to do with it. but how can i relieve them or keep them from coming. i have been getting them more when i change positions when laying down or when i turn when im sitting down. is this normal and if so when will it go away. im really unconfertable so i would really appreaciate some advice on this. i already tried asking this in the womens health but there has been no answers.

It could be ovarian cysts. Have you been to a gynecologist? Whether you are pregnant or not it would be a good idea to make an appointment and find out why you are suffering. The doctor may be able to prescribe something to ease the pain and may even be able to help treat it altogether. I began having ovarian cysts when I was 12 and I found that activity increased my discomfort, I also had trouble getting comfortable. Ibuprofen is the best answer I have found so far. If you have had this before it is unlikely that pregnancy is the cause. Fibroid tumors of the uterus could be another possibility. Also, dehydration can cause cramps or side stitches. I still think a doctors visit is a must if the discomfort is becoming that intense. Good luck.

1. Acetaminophen is the generic form of Tylenol. It is perfectly okay for you to take it if you are pregnant.
2. Muscle cramps are a common symptom of a low level of potassium. Eat some bananas.
3. It is extremely easy to become dehydrated while you are pregnant. You need to drink plenty of fluids at all times, especially after vigourous exercise.
4. Try applying heat to the area that is causing you discomfort. This will not hurt your potential pregnancy and will relieve the stiffness that you are feeling when you move.
5. Visit your doctor. It is very likely that you have pulled a muscle.

If you are pregnant these pains are not a normal part of early pregnancy and I would be concerned that there is something more going on. I would do a test to rule out pregnancy first of all because if you are having these while pregnant you need to consult a doctor about it. For now though I would take a pain relief with codein in it for the pain.

NONONONO!!!! No medicines!! Your baby's spinal cord and nervous system is forming at this moment and you can't risk take any medication because your baby may end up deformed.
Sweetheart, you need to see a dr. If it was just once in a while, it might be a stitch in your side that lots of runners get. But if it just keeps coming back, I don't know. If were, say, a couple of hours after a meal, and you were eating really gassy foods, I'd say you have gas. But you didn't even tell us exactly where these pains are...
It's not normal. Get to the dr. ASAP.

A cramp or stitch in your side is usually from a muscle spasm. If you are running be sure to warm up and stretch before running. Since it happens when you are not active it could be a muscle problem, have you tried to change your body position and relax when you get a cramp? Relax and do a little stretch.

you have to find out maby through blood test possibly and maby it is etopic or something like that go to your obgyn, Acetominiphin is tylenol and tylenol is the only pain reliver for pregnancy unless your doctor says take something else, codine is powefull pain reliver/sleep agent and you cant take during pregnancy unless directed by your doctor.
