You can't take away what Jordan did for Basketball and for the Bulls. I will give him that. BUT to say the best NBA player of all time?.. NO.. If you want to say the best in the 90's.. I'll EVEN give you that.. Although you had Barkley, Malone,..
I am not going to say he was overrated or not great. HE was, Even he admitted the Bulls needed Pippen. Pippen was so overlooked on that team. Sometimes Rightfully so with his meltdown that year the Bulls lost when Jordan went to Baseball. Jordan gave his all. He made everyone around him much better.. all that goes without saying. But come on.. Best of all time??? Even Dick Vitale had to admit Oscar Robertson was the greatest Guard to ever play the game.

Personally I'm not a Jordan honk, but he had personality and charisma, not to mention skills and media butt-kissing (I think Ahmad Rashad may finally have been able to pry his lips off Jordan's backside within the past few months).
Plus the NBA was at it's peak during the Jordan years.

I'm going to say that he is still more liked even though he's not in the NBA because he is a living legend, and by "living", I realize that most of the NBA greats are living, but Jordan is the only one among the top ten who still makes public appearances now and then.

Can really answer for LeBron and Duncan. The reason he is more popular than Kobe, is that Kobe is a whinny B*tchy primadonna.

because lebron is way too young still, duncan shouldnt be allowed in the same sentence, and kobes a cancer to the lakers and cant win without shaq. kobes got all the skill but doesnt have it upstairs, is not just jordans skills, its also his mental toughness that made him unquestionably the greatest player ever
