Sunroofs used to manually crank open and/or pop out (remove-able)
Moonroofs are on newer vehicles and are power. They open &/or tilt up & usually have a pull over shade.

Sunroof is glass that you can see through and lets the sun in. Moonroof is not glass, but metal like the car and you can't see through unless it is open.

A sunroof opens all the way, like a horizontal window, a moon roof just tilts up and open.
