All chickens originate from eggs. The original eggs were laid by a similar creature that was not a chicken. Mutation leads to evolution.

Here's the true story...
A chicken and egg are in bed together. The chicken is completly relaxed, smoking a cigarette, completely happy without a care in the world.
The egg, however, is irritated, frustrated, and filled with emotional instability.
Finally, the egg turns to the chiken and says, "Well, I guess that finally answers that freakin' question".

No one alive today can answer that question. It happened long before anyone of us was born. But I take it on faith that without an Egg to hatch, a Chicken could not arrive! And, without a Chicken to lay an egg, an egg could not hatch.

If you go by the Bible, God created the animals and the birds. He didn't incubate any eggs to hatch out birds.So, my guess
is that the chicken came first.

If you're really serious,the answer is the egg.
As you know,dinosaurs came long before birds,and dinosaurs reproduced by laying eggs.So ,to tell the truth ,the egg came b4 the chicken.
