as long as the combination isnt leaking then no. but get a plumber to do this! because if the shower rose or bath spout is a bit tight when you take it off you can actually twist/turn/damage the shower combination, if this happens then yes you need to get a new combination (as u call whole plumbing). It costs average $750 australia dollars (so about $1100 american) to replace the shower/bath combination and it depends what your bathroom is made out of too... anyway if you only want a new shower rose and a new bath spout then call a plumber

Nope. I helped my dad and uncle redo my grandmother's bathroom last year, and I put her faucet on after they installed the new tub. (I'm 17, and I'm a girl, thank you very much. It's really easy-no handy man needed.) As long as your pipes are in good condition. You probably have to make sure it's the same size to fit your current plumping, though.

nope you just need to get the new faucet with the same spacings as the old one (space between the handles and faucet mount.. so it will pass thru the existing holes in the walls or cabinets. make sure you measure it.. it helps to if you take a pic of it so you can show someone then you go to purchase a new one.

If you are just replacing the faucet, then don't need to mess with the plumping. You can just unscrew the faucet or showhead and change it out. Just make sure you use some teflon tape on the threads.

nope but you do have to understand what you're doing. Look it up on the net. It's not hard, just do it right or disaster may follow.

No, you do not. Nor do you need a man, as the charming gentleman previously said.
