I wanted to know if a divorce was public? For instance, I want to know if someone is really in the process of a divorce, is there a way I can get this information over the phone. Whether its final or not or even started for that matter?? I would like as much information as there is about it. Thanks!

Call the Register of Deeds Office in the county where the divorce would have taken place. One it's final, they usually post it as public information on the web. Some counties may post it as pending, but I doubt it.

if the divorce is in the process their will be no record of it. how about you stop being sneaky and just ask for some proof. a letter from his lawyer going to her lawyer, the response from that the actually filing of the divorce, the receipt from the payments to the lawyer, ask the ex on the sneak tip. stop being sneaky and just ask. and since you have to do all this you dont need to be with this person because you dont trust him nor do you believe what he says. GodBless.

Why not start with your local court house. They may be able to give you reliable information regarding how to go about finding public information.
