I am 16 years old, 5'2", with a very small frame and bone structure. For 3 years I have been a steady 95 lbs. Now, after I ended my soccer season 3 months ago, I lost 10 pounds, going down to 85, and now 81. I eat fattening foods all the time because they don't affect me. I eat fruits but not many vegetables. I don't understand why I am losing weight!!!

I do not want to lose anymore, in fact, I want to get back to my 95 lbs! So the question is, why am I losing weight? Secondly, how do I get it back if fat foods don't work?

Help, I'm really worried.

There are many possibilities and no one can possibly give you GOOD advise without looking at your exercise, complete nutrition, and other lifestyle factors. At your age, height and weight you do have reason to be concerned and you really need to see a doctor and make sure there are no medial reasons for this. He /She can also give you nutritional advise. Just because fattening foods are not causing you to gain weight does not mean that they are not increasing your cholesterol, affecting your heart and blood vessels and increasing your risk for cancer, diabetes and heart disease. You are setting up very unhealthy habits and they will catch up with you. But the way, The weight you want is muscle, you can only gain that with protein, vitamin and exercise... see your doctor, plan on a couple of visits to straighten out all the aspects that need to be addressed. You do have reason to be worried.

wow um right now i weigh more than you and I am eleveen almost 12 in 3 months. but dont worry. did you go to your doctor and ask him/her? i think that would be better. if you already do that. and you are losing so much weight maybe because you aren't eating enough. I would cut down on the exercise a little bit and stick to eating a little more. i will make a chart of what you should eat each day

Breakfast- Eggs, Scrambled or sunny side up, 2 pieces of bacon, and maybe some pancakes and waffles. Glass of milk, water, or orange juice or whatever you choose.

Lunch- Peanut butter & jelly sandwich, or what ever sandwich you want. Some macaroni and cheese or some corn, and a drink of whatever you choose. You can eat some fruit of which you like.

Dinner-You can eat some mash potatoes or baked potatoes, along with some meat like chicken. baked in the oven, maybe some vegetables like carrots, peppers, tomatoes, or like whatever vegetables you choose and fry them up on the stove. make sure you put 2 or more kinds of vegetables on the stove whenever you make them.

After Dinner kind of desert if you like that's healthy- Maybe you could prepare a Fruit Salad, maybe a Fruit Smoothie if you have a blender, something to do with fruits. Or you can make some chocolate covered Strawberry's if you like. Also if you live with your mom or dad or like family which I think you do then you could ask them if they could help you make some of the food if you don't like cooking.

Hope I helped!

Wow I'm elveen years old and i wrote all of this. Gosh.

You need to see the doctor. If you are losing weight and not doing unusual exercise or diet there may be a medical problem.

Yeah, you are pretty underweight and I would be concerned to hear something like that, if it were not for the exercise factor. You just hit the end of your season, and you're probably losing some muscle weight. I had the same problem when I stopped doing ballet--I used to be pretty muscular, and it startled me to leave my comfortable 150+ lbs.

What do you mean by "fattening foods"? If you're eating foods with a high fat content, you may want to substitute more meat/protein/carbs into your diet.

You need to see a physician as soon as possible. Losing weight under those circumstances a serious symptom. It could be serious, or it may not be. Best to find out for sure.

Please tell you Mom and Dad that you need to have a doctor's appointment as soon as possible. You are getting to thin, and this can affect your body in all kinds of negative ways.

Please get a doctors appointment so that he/she can ask you some questions and run some tests so that you can find out why you have lost this much weight in such a short time.

Best of luck and I hope you find out what is going on soon.

it could be something very simple such as stress or since you're not working out as much, you could be losing some muscle weight. i'm a cheerleader and whenever season is over i usually lose about 8-9 lbs. however, it could be serious. i'd see a doctor.
