Today something weird happened...I'm 8 weeks and at work today, my nose started to bleed pretty bad. Nothing major, but pretty significant. I never get nose bleeds and wonder if this is related to pregnancy. I also felt very dizzy and my blood pressure was below normal. (I took it at work) I haven't had morning sickness at all. Just tired and nauseous here and there. What do you think?

YES! With everyone of my prgnancies I have had nose bleeds. It has to do with the increase of blood. Try drinking more water. I found that it helps, and don't pick.

Oh, and having the low blood pressure wil cause the nausea and dizziness. This has happened to me all along. Try eating frequent small meals. I found this helped me.

Many women will develop nosebleeds during pregnancy. For the most part nosebleeds are common and quite harmless. If nothing else many women find them inconvenient and surprising at best
Nosebleeds during pregnancy are more common as the blood vessels in the body expand and the volume of blood pumping through the body expand during pregnancy. Being pregnant can increase the pressure in the blood vessels in your nose, contributing to nosebleeds. Nosebleeds are also common when a woman has a cold or when it is particularly dry out, as these conditions can contribute to membrane irritation.
If you develop nosebleeds during pregnancy, there are several simple steps you can take to stop them. The moment you notice a nosebleed starting, make sure you sit up, then apply pressure to your nostril for up to ten minutes. It will take a while for you to produce enough pressure to stop the nose bleeding. You can pinch your nostrils together by applying pressure to the outer nostrils.

Keep in mind it typically takes a full five to ten minutes to stop a nosebleed, so if you release pressure prematurely you will probably have to start all over again. Some women find that applying an ice pack over the nose helps speed along the process. Ice tends to constrict the flow of blood through blood vessels (just as it helps reduce dilation of the blood vessels during a headache). While you are treating your nosebleed, you want to be sure to avoid laying down or tilting your head back. This will allow blood from your nose to drip into your throat and stomach. That can produce nausea and vomiting, something you definitely won't want on top of a nose bleed.

Yes, nosebleeds do tend to occur more often during pregnancy. I never get nosebleeds either....except when I'm pregnant. It's normal so don't worry. It all has to do with your increased blood volume which in turn puts pressure on the blood vessels in your nose.

No morning sickness - lucky you! I'm 8 weeks along as well and sick as a dog!

That is normal. I got a nose bleed last week out of the blue. Our bodies are making more blood and that coupled with hormones, we tend to get symptoms like nose bleeds, dizzyness, ect.

Just so the blood is from your nose...you shouldn't worry.

It is normal to get nosebleeds during pregnancy. It is also normal for your blood pressure to be lower than your normal pre-pregnancy blood pressure. I sleep with a humidifier by my bed. I also use saline spray to moisturize my nose. This was all approved by my OB. You should mention this to your OB at your next appointment.

Call the Dr.
Nosebleeds aren't ever "normal", and your blood pressure shouldn't be so low. Usually nose bleeds go with HIGH blood pressure. It can never hurt to call.
