well its Winter, so all the tourist resorts will be closed down. You will have to go to a bigger island or the mainland to find things to do. Here where I live in the Dodecanese almost everything shuts down.
Try Athens or Thessaloniki, or the bigger islands like Crete, Rhodes etc.

I mean it is still a beautiful country even in Winter, especially around Christmas. But not visit a country that is busier in Winter, like Switzerland, Austria, Germany etc,
and then visit us in the Summer! :)

In North Greece it can be very very cold in the Winter, snow worthy. But down South in the Dodecanese it can still be pleasant. In the day time it is usually light jacket weather and still very sunny.

I've spent two winters in Greece (living aboard my yacht). The Ionian is wet (VERY wet) and relatively cold (we had temperatures near freezing for a couple of weeks in Corfu in 2005). Crete was great last winter though, very little rain and temperatures around 15 deg (Celsius) or so. We were swimming on New Years Day for example. If you must go in December I'd look seriously at Crete.

Do bear in mind though that in the smaller places almost all the bars and tavernas will be closed, so head for a larger place. Even then the outside tavernas will be usually be closed. Crete is a big island (the largest of the Greek islands) with lots to see, though most touristy places (like the Samaria Gorge) will be closed. Car hire will typically be cheaper in the winter though.

Wherever you go in Greece in December you'll see the country as the locals live it, rather than as the tourists want it!

It might be okay for Athens / mainland Greece but not the islands...it gets far too windy and you can't really go in the water...If you want to go to the Cyclades or any other islands and still beat the scorching summer temperatures, you're better to go in April (that's when everything is actually in bloom on the otherwise arid lands on the Aegean - that's what I was told)

It is not be the best time of the year; all depends wether you are lucky with the weather. We were lucky last year visiting Athens during Christmas & Newyear. Perfect weather with temperatures in the range 14-20°C, which feels quite good at nootime on a sunny terrace.

You ll not have problem, but it depends on the place..
I mean in the north part it is cold..The islands have a better clima, but you must avoid the boat, because of the wind, you can be b;locked...

Sure. Don't go to the islands though, they'll be rather deserted, but Athens and some mountainous destinations will be great.

Not the best time to go cause it is not summer there, although it won't be too bad cause in summer (June, July, August) it can get very scorching hot! Best time to go: Latre April-Mid June. :)
