Actually, certainty is far worse. We really know nothing with any true degree of certainty. Science simply adopts hypotheses and uses them until they fail, then develops improved ones. If religion claimed certainty there would be know need for faith. Certainty implies that you have closed your mind to the possibility that you are wrong. Greatness is seldom achieved with a closed mind.
The real trick is to summon courage to proceed in spite of uncertainty. Edmund Hillary said fear was his constant companion, adding a extra dimension to life. If he was certain he could climb Everest, do you think he would have done it?
This may be a good answer, but i am not certain of it

Uncertainty is the fear of the unknown , some thing in the future that has not happened yet and could go either way or it has but you don't have all the facts .

That was the problem of Hamlet. Did you know? that is why he asked the challenging question:" to be or not to be..."
and a goddamn fine man answered. Nietzsche. He said:
"knowledge kills action."
Therefore uncertainty is not that bad. it is only bad when it prevents you from deciding for a long time and lets the opportunities slip away.
On the other hand Luis Pasteur [spelling?] says:
"If you cannot decide for yourself, then you another one will decide for you."

Uncertainty/doubt is not the worst thing but is something that we, individually, can let prevent us from achieving our full potential.

No certainty is the worst, If you knew you couldn't do something great you'd never even try or if you knew you could do something would it really be that great.

No sometimes uncertainity also makes you reconsider your choices which is sometimes beneficial but sometimes you must be sure of something in order to do it successfully.
