No matter how famous or athlete superstar you might be, there's no way out. I have compassion for Vick and hope he learn froms this hard lesson of life. I'm glad that the NFL has disciplined Michael by suspending him. He has to live with this for his entire life and more than likely most people will see him as a vicious dog killer and the great football player he was. He should use his position and influence to campaign against dogfighting now and hopefully that will put him in a different light with the world around him. Try to repair his reputation and reconcile with those who love and care for animals, especially dogs.

I heard that! My brother is ordering a shirt off the Internet that says that! lol There is no way out of what he has done, no matter what! I hope he learns a lesson of life from what he has done too! I am so glad the Falcons have suspended him! He was a great football player and I don't know why he let this all go by killing dogs which is not right at all! He can't repair his rep with me anyway he will always be Michael Con-VICK-t to me! He has a very bad attitude and I agree he was a good ball player, but the whole flipping off the fans that was just not right at all! He has done the wrong and now he has to face the consequences for it! I hope he has a good time where ever he is at because if it was up to me he wouldn't be back in the NFL like ever! I totally agree with you 100%. I hope this has helped you too! Have a nice day!

His campaigning would not be believable. No one in their right minds would believe that Michael Vick feels any remorse for what he has done. 10 to 1 his only remorse is for getting caught. His father (see link below) stated that Michael Vick was involved in dogfighting long before his NFL career even began.

If watching dogs bleed to death, starve to death, fight viciously against another killer, hung, then drowned if they survived the hanging while watching them writhe in pain and yelp with terror over the last SIX YEARS + did not make him feel any remorse, then WHY in the world do you think that getting caught would suddenly fill him with remorse?

His reputation is beyond repair, there is no 'fix' for what he has done to his 'good name'. He should NEVER be allowed to own another animal, not even a fish. He is the poster child for animal abuse now, and there is not one animal rights organization out there that would touch him with a 10 foot pole.

With all due respect; Why do you feel compassion for Vick?

As for "campaigning against dog fighting..." I feel the opposite. He should avoid any name association to this issue.

See 1st, he has to "get it". I'll grant that "some" of this obscene mindset, came from prior life situations, but I'm willing to bet that he's still scratching his head, in disbelieve, wondering what the big deal is.

If I were trying to rehabilitate his image, I'd select another means by which to show he's human; Habitat for Humanity, working with the disabled, etc.

Any actions which could be viewed as being remotely related to this crime, will come across as phony. To him it appears to be 2nd nature. It's seems to be as natural as football to him.

That's my $.02

Looks like rapper DMZ was buying dogs from him for his own dogfighting purposes, They both should suffer the consequences.

Maricopa County sheriff's deputies found three dead dogs and seized 12 undernourished pit bulls Friday from the Cave Creek-area home of rapper-turned-actor DMX, whose real name is Earl Simmons. One of the three dead dogs dug up from the backyard was burned. in 1999. Simmons pleaded guilty to animal cruelty. A search warrant served also turned up drug paraphernalia, a cache of weapons and several cars with license plates that could not be traced back to the vehicles they were on.The dogs found inside Simmons' home did not have the proper food or water. Some of the dogs were tied up outside the house without water.

"We have to send a message," said Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio "that we're not going to put up with animal cruelty, no matter who they are."
