I want to make a suggestion to my boss....and tell him that we need a coordinator in an specific area of the company...actually i´m doing that job but as a secretary, but I think that´s not fair cuz I´m not only doing secretarial tasks....
I have a good relationship with him but not sure if it is ok to ask for my own promotion !!

Definitely ask for the job if you want it and also pad the story with the truth. Tell him how much of your time you spend already 30% 40%? what ever doing it already and then explain what having you in that position full time would mean to the company. Can you increase revenue? Upgrade customer service? What are the benefits that you personally bring and it is always easier to find a secretary to fill that kind of position than a specialist!? EH! Go for it and check the internet for salary price ranges so you can justify that as well. IF he wants you to train the new person say yes of course but, set a deadline for when they have to be "finished". Or you will still be doing a bit of both jobs=my old boss gave me 5 titles before I learned this trick! He never let me finish doing any of the old jobs and was shocked when I decided to leave. Offered me anything to stay! HA-I walked!

Most people who get promoted ask for their own .
I should note that they are totally able to articulate why and what the value is to the company .

ofcourse it is! If you can imagine and believe in yourself for a new position your already half way there! You need to be sure of yourself and that you can do it and then show your boss that! Im sure you'll do great!
