Oh, this is such a joke I have to tell you this. Cal. law says that all apt houses must have
a fire extinguisher--and someone in the bldg. who knows how to use it.
I have asked Mgmt many times for this safety feature but came up wioth -0-. I have
also asked that we have a mtg
and the fire chief would tell us how to use (our own) ext.
and when to use and when to
leave the bldg. -0- again.
I personally have heard the
smoke alarms and gone to
pull elderly out of the bldgs.
One lady refused to leave because her dog would not come out. I got in her face and made her leave then went
back in and got the dog.
It's usually something on the
stove they forgot.
The mgmt could care less.

smoke detectors? Yes. I check most of them when they start "chirping" or, once in a while, when I think of it.. I change the batteries every time I reset the clocks for a time change.

I know the one in the kitchen works. It goes off whenever I boil or fry something on the stove.

Yes. Test them weekly. Change batteries twice a year.

Yes we do, and we do check them, but probably not as often as we should.
