Several reasons... like:
Rock stars/ actors/ actresses -usually drugs. Their lifestyle consumes them. Or a psychotic fan becomes obsessed with them and ends up killing them.
All others: They probably just weren't appreciated for what they were until their lives were taken. People tend to shut out the bad in a person once they pass, so they realise the good things more elaborately.

before their time? God decides when our time is so they were taken at the right time... I understand what you mean about being sad for the loss of promising people but it is not our choice when we go..

Choices, genetics or chance. Perhaps they fulfilled their destiny. Perhaps it's a God thing. It is a question no one can really answer for sure. I have had people in my life that have died young and there seemed no reason why.

Maybe because we are to learn from what they were doing and carry it forward but no one ever really does do they.
