103 is high but not critical, you are doing good thing but she is sick. take her to a doctor, how about an urgent care place. She may have an ear infection or virus. that's too high for teething in my opinion. I am not a doctor or a nurse. I do worry a lot though. hope she is better real soon.

So far you're doing things right!!
A fever over 101.5 is generally not related to teeth. What way are you taking her temperature? If it's rectally, then you can trust the reading. If it's under her arm, you can not. If it's in one ear, try the other. If you get a different reading in the other ear, it could be an infection in her ear. (It's not a reliable way to know anything though!!) You say your daughter is crying. Is it the "pay attention to me I want mommy and only mommy" kind of cry, or is it the wailing "OWIE" kind of cry? That makes a difference. If it's the former, then indulge her a little. If she's wailing like she's in pain, then that's a different story.
I would touch base with her pediatrician for their advice as to how to proceed from here. I would NOT rush to the ER until you speak to her doctor. If it's the first day of fever, you'll be wasting an entire night sitting in the ER for a doctor who sees one child a year to tell you it's nothing and to see her pediatrician tomorrow. (most ER docs have little to no experience with children, especially small ones, unless you go to a specific Pediatric ER, and there's not many of those around.)
In the meantime, offer her something cool to drink. While you're waiting to for the pediatrician to call you back, think about these things - because they'll probably ask you: (write 'em down if necessary)
1. When was her last wet diaper?
2. How long has she had the fever?
3. How much Tylenol did you give and at what time?
4. What has she had to eat or drink?
5. Has she been playing today at all, was this a sudden occurance or has she been not herself all day?
These are all important things to tell the doctor so they can assess how you should proceed thru the night.
Good luck! I hope she feels better!!

It sounds like she is sick and you should take her to the doctor. Does her fever go down when you give her Tylenol and then go back up again a few hours later? Does the Tylenol help her mood or does she still act pretty sick even with the Tylenol? Her fever is definitely too high to be just fromt eething. I don't know how bad her diarrhea is but, jsut a few loose bowels each day is not a big deal but, many really watery bowels each day is a different story. Babies can get really easily and suddenly dehydrated when they have fevers and diarrhea and deydration can be really dangerous in a baby. Is she peeing as often as she usually does? Give her as much to drink as she is willing to take. It will help her fever and keep her from getting dehydrated. It's really important. Also, Motrin or Advil (the baby kind) is much more effective than Tylenol at reducing fevers and at pain relief. A diaper rash can be really painful and cna be really hard to cure if she continues to have diarrhea. Try to change her as soon as she is wet or poops and use Desitin on her bottom to keep it from getting worse. Be sure to cover her rash with Desitin every time you change her. If it were my kid, I would take her to the doc to see what is causing her fever. You also didn't say how long shes been sick....

I have a 5 year old and a 8 month old, I know from experience that teething does come with a slight temp and some loose bowels, but never a temp of 103! Any temp over 100.4 is considered a fever and your child needs to see a doctor immediately! I would rather go to the doctor or ER and chance nothing being wrong than to sit at home and not go and something being terribly wrong with my baby. Go to the Doctor or ER right NOW!

My niece has a baby the same age. He also ran fever that high. I insisted she take him to the Doctor. The Doctor said he was just teething. There was nothing else going on with him. I would continue with the Tylenol and call the Doctor Monday. If the fever gets any higher I would call the Doctor right away. There should be a Doctor on call from your pediatrician's office. Good luck. I'm sure that is scary.

If she continues to have a high fever over 102, you should call the er. I think a lot of people don't realize you can call them first and ask for their input. Our hospital even started using a 1-800 nurse line that they pass to folks who call the ER to help them determine whether they should go in if it's an iffy situation.
You can also try bathing her in a lukewarm bath and see if that helps lower the fever.

No that isnt normal. slightly elevated temp for teething is normal but your baby is sick and u need to either call her pediatrician or take her to the er, she could have the flu, or a massive ear infection either way get to the doc . if u have childrens advil give her some of that but get her to the er now and dont wait, that is too high of a temp.

I think with the fever it's possible she has an ear infection. I know they say there's no correalation to it but every time my children cut teeth they got ear infections at least 70% of the time. And a fever of 103 is high . so I would have her checked out at least. Just to make sure.

Anything over 100.5 is NOT related to teething. Call your pediatrician-they will tell you whether or not to bring her to the ER (although I'm going to guess it'll be a yes. Anything over 103 in a chid under 1 year may be serious). Keep her cool until then.

You should get a pediatrician so you can call for answers like this especially if she has a temp. over 101. ER is not the place for this type of thing and you expose the baby to worse things.
