...the German aircraft manufacturers after the war? Heinkel and Messerschmitt produced runabouts for export, Dornier built light transport planes. But what about Junkers and Focke-Wulf, Henschel, Fieseler, Arado et al? Were their top designers "kidnapped" by the allies, or what?

wikipedia has details on each of those companies\

focke-wulf factories were destroyed, the top designers went to Argentina, Fieseler started making automotive components - et al

I dont know what happened in the particular cases you mention but a large number of German scientists and designers did 'deffect' to the allies when it became clear that Germany were going to lose. Some of these no doubt under duress.

As you may know current space exploration has it's foundations in the Germans 'V' flying bombs and that information was gleaned from the German designers themselves..

Your best bet is to try something like Wikipedia
