My cousin is called Neo, he's 7 now.

He still gets lots of people calling him Neil including the other children at school, he gets Christmas cards addressed to Neil as well.

I would seriously consider this problem before naming your child this, you will be giving him a lifetime of spelling his name

ok- I never saw the matrix but none of his friends will know that movie when he gets older. I was thinking neo meant something- like neonatal. Does it mean premature or something?- no i just looked it up, means newborn.

Not keen on that sorry - just makes me think of Keanu Reeves in the Matrix.

I have two opinions on this. My emotional side thinks it's a super cool name. My logical side thinks it's too Matrix and too odd for him to feel comfortable with as an adult.

way too matrix. it also seems very gimmicky and odd. especially once the child is grown, do you really want him to have a name that means young or immature or inexperienced? really, who wants to have to put neo smith on their resume? go with owen or something.

I think it's a very unusual name, you've got to remember though he's got to live with that name & kids can be nasty about names.
