I will be moving to the Denver area by May 08. I was wondering which areas are the best for kids (schools, activities, etc). Another factor with our move is that I am a nurse and dont want to commute too far. (But my knowledge on the health systems there are again limited). Also area most areas convenate to DTC (this is where my husband will work). Thanks!

I would say Englewood, Littleton, Castle Rock and anywhere in the southern city of Denver neighborhoods are family friendly, good schools, nice homes, etc. When I moved I found http://www.hubbuzz.com/Denver/MetroAreaOverview.aspx to be very helpful because it has tons of great neighborhood information on all Denver area neighborhoods and suburbs. This website has photos, neighborhood write ups, maps, neighborhood facilities and blogs. I hope you find it as helpful as I did!

University Hospital and Childrens Hospital will both be on the same campus at the end of September. If you moved east of central Aurora or south of Aurora, there are new housing developments. Safe areas and both school districts, Aurora and Cherry Creek are good schools. I have had my kids in both and prefer Aurora because of attitude of students, parents, and teachers. You need to stay south of 6th ave if you do move to Aurora. I-225 will go straight to DTC, but traffic can be backed up during rush hour.
You could also move further south to Castle Rock. The schools there have a very good reputation. Easier to get to DTC but I'm not sure about hospitals or clinics for you.
Good Luck.

Seriously, Broomfield is hands down the best family town in Denver area. There are tons of kids and kid friendly sports activities. The people are great here and so are the schools.
There are Boulder Hospitals close by...one in Lafayette I think. Check out Anthem or Wildgrass in Northern part of Broomfield. This place is just awesome.
