He use to make of my name. I think he is doing this to fill in some kind of void of insecurity about himself/and was picked on when he was young. he made fun of it and I was very embarassed. And he made fun of others. Whenever I went to his class i got a panic attack EVERYDAY.

You should discuss this with your parents. They will be able to help you decide what to do. Do not just rely on the Internet to solve this for you. You will be able to accomplish much more with an adult to back you up, especially since you waited so long. Do not suggest your psychological theory as to why he behaved the way he did. Concentrate on the behavior and how it affected you, or you won't get anywhere as far as making sure this behavior stops.

You will need to know this to get something done:
What is the reason you want to report this?
What is the behavior you are reporting?
What specific days/times did it happen?
What exactly happened?
What do you hope to accomplish by reporting this?

Good luck. Nobody should mistreat others.

Hilary, when did this happen and is he still your teacher? It makes a difference, I also suspect that you are an ESL student.
If he is still your teacher and there is no other one who gives that subject you have to be careful. If he is no longer your teacher, then by all means. Another things is would the other students be willing to tell on him too. Nobody has the right to humiliate anyone in front of other students. Or alone for that matter. How old are you?

Second Answer*** Then if you are 14, you know that it is harrassment. Talk to Mom and have her go with you. The director of the school is obligated to speak with him about his actions. I agree withe others that you have the right to study in peace. YOU are the student and the reason that he is there in the first place.
PS I know what panic attacks are like, good luck.

Definitely go to the counselor and/or get your parents involved. School should not be a place where you develop panic attacks!! Who can learn under these conditions! It doesn't matter why he's doing it--he's the adult and should 'get over it' and not make traumatic moments for his students! This is ridiculous.

Some teachers just don't know the line between "kidding around" with his/her students and tormenting them!

Good luck to you.

I'm going to play devil's advocate. My answer is different from most of the one's you've gotten. Could it be that the teacher uses this tactic to joke around with students? Sometimes teachers do that sort of thing without intending to hurt feelings.

If you haven't already spoken to him about it, I would encourage you to let him know that you don't like it before you go to the principal, etc. Unless you feel that he is intentionally trying to hurt you, give him the benefit of the doubt.

Perhaps this is his way of teasing students without meaning to be malicious. Maybe you just need a little time to get to know his personality.

good luck...have a great school year....

Hilary. Tell ur parents(if u haven't already) and get therm to complain to the school. Is there someone at school u trust u can talk to, like ur class teacher or a counsellor? There's no way this should be happenenig. Hope this helps.

Go to your counselor and tell him/her. Then, take it to the principal. If that doesn't help, have mom and dad take you to the school board. You ought to get some action there!!!
