I will be heading to Europe next spring and need to know where I should look for a place to live. I am hoping that I can find a job and somewhere to live so I don't have to come back to Canada.

I am not rich but I do have many skills and am a hard worker.

Canadians are certainly welcome everywhere in Europe. And because you are familiar with a cold and dark winter, I want to tell you that Denmark, and Norway seem to be the best places to find a job in the present time. Of course you would have to learn the foreign language, but even this is no big problem for English speaking people.

It might be hard if you don't have another language outside of English - really all of the U.K. is quite a bit more expensive than the rest of Europe. Maybe in the Netherlands you could get away with just knowing English but definitely no guarantee.

I don't know what type of climate, culture, geography, etc. you're used to Canada or what you might be interested in (have you been to Europe before?), but if I was in your position, I would seriously invest in learning a second language (if you don't have one already). French and/or Spanish classes might be a good choice as these are the most popular and abundant language programs in Canada.

Moreover, what type of job are you looking for and what skills do you bring?...It might be a good idea to get in touch with an embassy or consulate which may be able to tell you more about what work is in demand abroad and the necessary qualifications/papers.

This is by no means a simple question you've asked here and it will require more research on your part.

You know there are immigrants that come to Canada with romantic or idealized notions of life in this country who get the shock of their lives when they have to look for work and get established...Moving to another country is not like going on vacation...this is a huge life-changing experience that should not be taken lightly.

Um well I would say England because of the language and stuff but it's expensive. Spain is cheaper and better weather but you will have to learn the language. But there are alot of nice places in Europe you could move too maybe you should travel around before making a decision.
