Am I the only one offended?

A horrible incident in Somalia where a Black Hawk helicopter was shot down. Our soldiers fought and died, trying to survive this urban warfare nightmare while their friends suffered.

Then some wierdo goes and makes a video game out of an actual historic event of our country's soldiers dieing.

Is anyone else offended by this?

One of my favorite games is B17 BOMBER, so other combat-related games bother me. This one does b/c it depicts a very isolated event where people have died, but the other combat games are much more hypthetical. If I knew of another game that described a specific event, such as Black Hawk Down, it would also offend me.

I meant to say, above, "do not offend me". I guess the line, for me, is when a game depicts an real and isolated event where people died.

Personally, I am offended by all violent games but especially those that are based on recent military events.

Then games based on WW2, Viet Nam, and various battles and wars throughout history offend you too?

The easiest way to keep the game Black Hawk Down from profiting from that event is for the game not to sell. If it sells it stays, if it doesn't sell it goes away.

How long in the past does a conflict have to be before a game can be based on it? No one seems offended by games based on WW2, Korea or Vietnam. Are civil-war recreations offensive?

I think you and I might be a lot alike. I cannot watch it as I have too many friends serving in uniform and I fear that it might all happen to them. I am not so much offended, but scared
After all, it has already happened
