Sorry #1 but it wasn't Stennett who did it first

On September 16, 1975, Rennie Stennett of the Pirates
became the only player in the 20th century to collect
seven hits in a nine-inning game, going 7-for-7 in a 22-0 rout of the Cubs.......Upon further research tho..

Stennett ACTUALLY TIED the record for a nine inning game, set by Wilbert Robinson Baltimore N.L., in 1892. Robinson also went 7-7, collecting six singles and a double. Stennett hit four singles, two doubles, and a triple

Just for a little extra----
The record for most in an extra-inning game in the American League is an amazing 9 hits. In a 1932 game that went 18 innings, Johnny Burnett for Cleveland had a remarkable 9 hits. Burnett did however make two outs so he was only 9-11. The record for most hits in an extra inning game in the National League is 6. This is held by too many players to list but it's weird that no one in extra innings could break the 9-inning record of 7

Rennie Stennett of the Pittsburgh Pirates went 7-7 on Sept 16, 1975 which tied the record for most hits in a 9-inning game, originally set by Wilbert Robinson (7-7, Baltimore) in 1892

However...the record for most hits in a Major League Game was set by John Burnett of the Cleveland Indians who went 9-11 in an 18 inning game against Philadelphia on July 10, 1932

The record for at-bats is held by 14 different players, not just Carlton Fisk. It's 11.

The record for hits is 6 in the American League, held by 35 different players.

The record for hits is 7 in the National League, held by Wilbert Robinson of Baltimore in 1892 and Rennie Stennett of Pittsburgh in 1975 (7-7).

It's funny to note that the N.L. record for hits is actually larger for a 9-inning game than for an extra inning game.

it is going to in all likelihood ensue sometime, regardless of if it would desire to be a protracted time. it quite is between the harder information available - it quite is been over 30 years because every person has even made it to forty video games. As to who would desire to do it - there are a style in the majors who would desire to cope with it - Ichiro, Pujols, Mauer, and particular a million/2 a dozen others have the skill. Hitting streaks that long are many times a statistical fluke - regardless of in case you're a .4 hundred hitter, there is in basic terms some a million in 2500 danger which you will pass fifty six at modern video games with a minimum of one hit.
