I truly suspect that every remotely religious person who ever picked up arms against another people or nation believed that God was on their side.

God isn't a bloodthirsty God. Mankind will always have wars so God uses this weakness of ours to do His bidding. I believe this war isn't about anything other than lining up the nations to go into the end times.

I don't think God supports war but I think he does know that man will resort to them. President Lincoln one day worried about both sides in the Civil War praying to God and wondering if he would wake up with God supporting the south.

Good question and a hard one to answer. There are two parts of the bible, the old testament and the new. The old testament is relative to us mostly for historical study. The new testament is a blue print on how God reaches out to us by giving us a way to be saved. Saved from what? Saved from the world and the rulers of this world. All things here are temporary and of little importance in the big picture. Yet we are in the middle of it and live here. Does morality and evil come into play with this war on terror? Absolutely. I feel in my heart that Islamo fascists extremists who use terrorism to kill and conquer in the name of their false god Allah (who in the Koran is a moon god) are evil and from the devil himself. And I feel it is the duty of all who believe in freedom and the real God to defend those who need defending. In some ways life is presious here and everyone should get the chance to hear the gospel of Christ and choose. But the bible says thou shall not kill I wonder if that also means thou shall not defend? Someone once said God sent Jesus to save your soul and he also sent the soilder to defend your freedom.

Personally, I think that article is blasphemous!
It's a good thing I'm not God! I'd be sorely pissed at the way people fight and kill in my name. I'd be pissed that I gave the 'big three' a Holy City and all they can do is fight over it because each one thinks they have exclusive rights. Two of 'em don't eat pork, you'd think that and a shared Holy City would be enough common ground for 'em, but nooooo. Sorry, side-tracked.... which one of those pesky religions has been misbehaving again??

God really doesn't give a toss as years ago he realised what an utter balls up he'd made of the whole affair of humankind and has buggered off to work on a far less ambitious project.

No one knows.
If there is a God, he is certainly a "hands off God".
Which he what he points out in the Bible.
(If he did inspire it.)
We make Our Own Decisions.

god doesn't exist. and even if he did he isn't helping in any way. so it doesn't matter if he supported the war.
