I have a way that always works for me and was passed down from my mum (always the best cures, don't you think?!)

Either turn off all the lights or have one night light. Lie comfortably, then imagine yourself in a place - mine is the top of a hill looking over the sea, mum's is on the beach watching the waves. Look in minute detail at each wave, each twinkle of sunlight on the sea. Listen to the wind rushing through the trees, smell the salt in the sea. Feel the stresses of the day ebbing away with each pulse of the sea. I never get past this point as I fall asleep - let me know how far you get......

Sleeping pills are a disaster. Take them for as little as 3 nights in a row and you may be hooked for life!

Don't read or watch TV for 30 minutes before retiring, these are both brain stimulants. Take a warm, caffeine free drink. Either have a bath with lavender oil, or put a few drops on your pillow, or both.

I hope I can help but you don't have to take sleeping pills it's
you that opens the bottle and puts the pill in your mouth.

What I suggest you do is cut them down starting tonight
and gradually take them less each night I am not going to tell
this will be easy but you have to be strong you have got a whole life in front of you think about it do it for me please you
may not sleep for a couple of nights but whats a couple of nights in a life time. please be strong.

I wish you well Mary
