A waste of time is time spent on something that is unproductive. Thus we have to ask, "What is productivity?"

Many people think that unless one is accomplishing a task, one is being unproductive. This does not seem to me to be a Biblical view, because God places such a high value on relationships.

A productive use of time is time spent on something that builds up oneself (in a godly way) or others. Watching a kitten play, and laughing, is productive. Resting and restoring yourself, in balanced moderation, is productive. Spending time with friends in a way that brings spiritual refreshment and enhancement of relationships--this is also productive.

What is unproductive--or rather, produces only destruction--is to nurse a grudge, meditate on old wrongs, savor hatred, plan cruelty, prepare for revenge.

Complaining and other negative speech is also a waste of time, as is focusing on the pain without looking to the Healer, or focusing on the problem without praying in faith to the Answer.

To sum it up, the only way to bear good fruit is to plant yourself by the Living Water. Whatever you draw on that does not spring from this Living Water will be dry and barren (unproductive).

It's a waste of time to do things that have no value. The world values outward things much more than inner things. Christians should not forget that time spent in nurturing that which is eternal and unseen is an investment that will not lose its value.

As we gradually grow in our ability to live more and more by God's Spirit, we will waste less and less time. We will gain more wisdom to discern what is truly important and be able to weed out what is not.

Just off the top of my head I'd say too many meetings is a waste of time as it takes you away from the truly good things in life such as your family and friends even when they are productive as we live in a society that's so fast paced and meeting oriented. I just think some are unnecessary. Also, watching too much tv especially kids when they should be outside getting exercise is constitutes a waste of time. Complaining and excessive arguing is definetly a waste of time along with fretting over things beyond our control when we should be relying on our faith in God to see things through.

Everything we do must be for the Lord. If we do things for ourselves than that is a waste of time. When we could be doing something to honor God with our lives. The devil has many ways to waste time. Like playing games, watching TV, and many others. There is nothing wrong with these things as long as you give God equal time. Like reading His Word, sharing His love with others, Telling others about Jesus. So many times we just stay at home and do nothing. There is a world out there dying every day, and there are too many Christians doing nothing. Many years ago people use to get out and know their neighbors, and help people, and now not too many do that. They don't want to be bothered. It is a ME world we live in. If I don't get anything out of it. Then why should I help. God bless to all who read this.

Hi Kidd: Nothing is a waste of time... why? Because you learn from everything you do. If you make mistakes, lesson learned. If you sleep in, then your body and brain probably needed it. If you miss something important, lesson learned. Everything we do on earth, has a purpose, no matter if by our standards if might be a waste time, it really isn't, according to God's plan, we are still learning. Nothing constitutes a waste of time, Kidd.

Counterpoint from the BBC, 1967: A sitcom observed as "never recommendations the customary, experience The Width". way forward of their time, as ever. this may be a subtitle for the debates and speechifying we've seen on the two factors of the DMZ in American politics in cutting-edge times. As a corollary, i will upload this, put in the mouth of regulation and Order's D.A.sarcastically performed by Fred Thompson, a former Congressman and Presidential candidate in genuine existence: "while those people use the be conscious "integrity", what they actually recommend is money."

Basically, doing anything that will not last for eternity. The one thing we know that is eternal is God, and also that God is love. Unsurprisingly, love lasts forever (because God is love). So I'll just quote this bit from the Bible to show why this is so, and trust it will bless you all:

'And now I will show you the most excellent way. If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing... Love never fails... And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love. (1 Cor. chap 13)

In modern parlance, I quote the words of the gorgeous pop song: 'All I need is the air that I breathe, and to love Him.'

Worry is a waste of time and energy. If the problem is fixable -then fix it. If it isn't fixable all the pacing and nailbiting worry isn't going to do anything but wear you out. It is best to go on about life and let the unfixable situation develop as it may until it reaches its natural conclusion.

When someone ask a question on yahoo answers, and you write a long answer to explain in detail, and either it was deleted or canceled....... that is a wast of time.

Sleeping in late!
I mean really, why waste an hour or 2 sleeping when you could be doing so many other things? Then you would have more time in your day.

Romans 14:23 "whatever is not from faith is sin."

Anything done without faith in God is a waste of time because it is sin and the wages of sin is death.

Colossians 4:
5 Walk in wisdom toward those who are outside, redeeming the time. 6 Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer each one.
