The number of pairs of shoes should be in direct proportion to the elegance of the women...therefore you Mustard seed should have an infinite number of pairs

last time I counted was after a fire when I was 24 years old
at the time I had 48 pairs
all burned so sad
don't know how many now but my daughter made me throw a bunch out and replace them!
the answer is it depends how big your closet is and how organized you are.
if you cant find them you cant wear them
and don't forget boys there are whole sets of shoes that are seasonal (boots) (flip flops) sport and dance oriented , I cant imagine not having tennis shoes (the old pair is the icky job pair) the shoes you wore to your wedding when you stay the same size for some 30 years one acumulates things
Someone mentioned a pair that goes with nothing you own
Well how cool are they? If they are really neat ,you build and outfit around them!!!! but she knew that!

The American Shoe Society (***) has determined that women should have as many shoes as they are willing to walk a mile in .
Other studies , like the 'Earnest T's Research Program' have determined that a girl can have as many pairs as she likes . (Take that 'Thomas G', Ha)

I don't think there is such a thing as too many as long as a few pairs are beneficial to the man in the woman's life. Heels and the "right" clothes can justify many, many pairs.

Hi Musterseed, I believe that there is no such thing as having to many shoes, and a lady should have a pair of shoes for every outfit that she has. maybe two pair for every outfit, if shoes make you happy, go for it...

I have bedroom slippers, Dress Shoes, and sneakers. That's it !
My Lovely, Highly Refined, Elegant, and Drop Dead Gorgeous Wife has a different pair for each outfit ! Different Colors, Different Shades of the same Color, Flats, Heels, Sneakers for Walking, and Sneakers for Working Out. She's got me beat X10 !
I guess it is as many as she thinks she needs.

Hey...I think you should have any many as you can afford....
I have about 25 pairs...but my 3 favorite pair cost more than my others combined!
Go for it....go indulge yourself!

How many pairs too many eh...hmmm....how about more than one pair for each day of the week. After all, we guys are always being harped on by you ladies to make sure we have..err...well, let's say...fresh underclothing for each day of the week. Isn't more...um....too much?
