Should he go to jail? Also shouldn't the State of Virginia have charged him instead of the government? We are the United States of America. State is another word for country we are just united. If you read the constitution I believe there is nothing in there about dogfighting. Dogs may be living things but so are cows and pigs. Well, what do you think?

yes go to jail. everyone should charge him for starting up a gambling ring. He's the ring leader of all his own crimes. Killing animals and not getting food from them is one thing. To kill animals for the reason of pleasure is wrong and considered criminal activity.

The Constitution is as it is, Michael Vick has nothing to do with state offenses or what is written in the Constitution, that really is beside the point.

He'll likely just have his career ruined. His contract with either Nike or Adidas has been pulled and he's been suspended from training with the ATL Falcons. Most likely he'll pay millions in damages, but chances are he won't serve very much jail time, if any. Some of his associates might because they were more directly involved. But all Vick did was flip the bill, and kill an under performing dog. He never betted or had any monetary gain from the dog fights, so he's going to suffer bad PR and a ruined career, jail time isn't likely.

There are federal laws that the federal government has to enforce, the constitution is just a small part of the law that the federal government oversees through the Justice Department. Vick should go to jail for the maximum of five years and have has NFL career ended permanently for this barbaric practice.

I'm sure Michael Vick will serve prison time and does deserve it. What he's done is awful and shameful! What bothers me about all this is that we're letting off child molesters on a technicality and then sending this guy to prison. As what do I think of Michael Vick, I don't think of him at all!

If you break federal laws, you get punished. If you break state laws, you get punished. What Mr. Vick did deserves punishment.
